| A
short "visit" in the German Radio and Broadcasting Museum |
The "Deutsches Rundfunk-Museum e.V" (German broadcasting museum) was located from 1967 to 1997 under the radio tower (Funkturm) in Berlin. Interesting exhibition rooms showed scenes of the early radio era: A typical radio store approx 1935, a typical living room approx. 1930, a air-raid shelter of WW II with a DKE (Goebbels snout), a studio of the Vox-House, a public television room approx. 1936, a living room approx. 1958. A postcard series published by the museum shows these exhibits, unfortuately this series is not more available. After the move to Berlin-Adlershof there are no showrooms any more. Since December 2000 the residence of the museum is located in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Only some of the objects are on display there. Visit the internet site of the museum. |

The museum provides to the Archiv-Verlag long-standing the technical and historical support for the radio set and history related single sheet information series. Long before that the Deutsches Rundfunk-Museum published themselves a radio set catalogue, well known in the collector community. The museum publishes also other interesting specialized literature related to to the German broadcast and television and color television (PAL) history, including information about the former German Democratic Republic. When you have
questions about the German Wireless and broadcasting history, you will receive
here qualified information. At best, you ask for Mr. Exner. |

A good public visit was the result. Per day approx. 1600 visitors. At certain times radio sets and tv-sets were presented in operation. The team was asked a lot and could give so many information about the exhibits. Now you will find more than 70 photos, including of many detailed photos of the exhibits. | |
